Growing up in Westfield, Indiana, Blake attended the Indiana School for the Blind, from kindergarten through tenth grade. At that time he and his parents believed it would assist him as he transitioned into the world of work to attend Westfield Washington High School his junior and senior years. During his high school career, Blake attended broadcasting courses at the J. Everett Light Career Center in Indianapolis.
This opportunity gave him the education for his future career, with his first “gig” being the host of a four-hour radio show on WJEL, the station operated by the career center. After his schooling in Indiana, Blake began a professional broadcasting career in Austin, TX at KHFI and KBTS. That experience lead to KTSA and KTFM in San Antonio, and then to KLUV and KISS-FM in Dallas – all top-rated stations in larger markets.

While on the air in Dallas back in the 90′s, one of Blake’s fondest memories was his friendship with the late and world famous Wolfman Jack, whose air shift followed Blake’s at the old KODZ (Oldies 94.9).
In 1999, Blake was presented with the Dallas Mayor’s Award for excellent work ethics and for overcoming challenges while working at Bank of America and KISS-FM.
Blake became an author in 2006 when his book “Out of Sight Living” was published. It’s a wonderful work of encouragement. Blake says he wrote the book to “challenge us all to be grateful for the lives we have and for the hardships we endure to make us stronger in our hearts”.
Blake’s goal is to travel around the country and provide motivation and encouragement to others at speaking engagements and book signings.”
Blake has an unusual amount of contagious enthusiasm for life and it shows in everything that he does.
